G H Raisoni Law College Organized International Women's Day

On 5th of March 2020, our esteemed institution G H Raisoni Law College organized International Women's Day and various activities to bring up the hidden talents of our college. The activities conducted were speech competition, poem narration, singing competition and essay competition. The enthusiasm of the students was very evident with the kind of participation. It is rightly said that, when the roots are strong you do not have to fear the storm. These activities are like the right nourishment that our talents need.

The chief guest for the event was our former student who has made the college proud on a national level, Ms Anisha Sharma, she was placed amongst the top five finalist of Liva Miss Diva,

who with her excellent skills in various fields has earned her fame, name and a lot of respect. The event marked her felicitation just to let her know that we are so proud of her.

The theme of the event was women empowerment, and each performance reflected the thought process of the students. At the conclusion of the event, Ms Anisha Sharma shared her words of wisdom and congratulated all the winners for all the future endeavors. Dr Ashok Pawade, Dean of GHRU School of Law Saikheda addressed the students on the issue women discrimination. The staff and the students participated whole heartedly making it a successful event.

Moot Court Conducted at GHRLS, Nagpur

The second Intra House Moot Court was conducted on 3 March 2020,for all final year students of BA.LLB five years and LL.B three years course. Adv. Manisha Tilloo Bhattacharya, Adv Anagha Shelke Pande, Adv Anubha Jain and Dr Adv Anita Sable were the Judges for the moot court round. We are proud and thankful to all the Judges for contributing positively and making value addition. Dr Aarti Kalnawat organized the moot court round and framed the moot problem.

Preamble Recitation competition at GHRLS, Nagpur

On the occasion of Marathi pandarvada the G H Raisoni Law College Nagpur had organized a Preamble Recitation competition on 6 March 2020. Total 35 students have actively participated in the scrutiny round. The Judges for the round were Madam Hira Binekar and Madam Pinky Churad. The competition was open for three languages Marathi, Hindi and English. The preparation undertaken by students is praise worthy. The budding lawyers are equipping themselves with right knowledge and perspective.

GHRLS, Nagpur Students Brought Laurel

Heartiest Congratulations Mr Kartik Rao for winning the SECOND BEST SPEAKER PRIZE and Ms Tanvi Shah for reaching upto Final Round of the Inter-Collegiate youth festival debate Competition organized by DAIMSR, Nagpur. He received the prize on 29 February 2020 in the Valedictory function. There were total 10 teams who were competing in the eliminators. The Topic was - "Is politics a good career option" where Kartik Spoke -against the motion and Tanvi Spoke for the motion. Then 10 individuals qualified for finals including Kartik and Tanvi. The Topic for the final round was" 5 TRILLION ECONOMY ACHIEVABLE OR NOT" here Kartik Spoke against the motion. The total Time allotted was 6 minutes in total for both the speakers. This debate was little different being an open debate were the team members only have to rebut their own teammate points after 1 minute of introduction. Well done, Keep the winning baton in motion.

GHRLS, Nagpur Conducted Turn Coat Debate

An intra-house Turn coat debate was organized to encourage students in exploring their debating skills and learn the art of public speaking. The topic for the debate was 'Should Politician in India be educationally qualified?". The students had to speak for and against the motion. The students took up the challenge and put in their best foot forward. Adv Aparna Khapre and Mr Rakesh Nayar judged the competition. Ms Krishna Patel won the FIRST PRIZE; she was awarded with certificate and a gold medal. Mr Rohan Kothari won the second prize, he was awarded with silver medal and a certificate and Ms Shweta Jana won the third best speaker prize. All the participants were awarded with participation certificates. CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners and participants for walking a step forward in this professional journey of a lawyer. Madam Avneet Lamba conceptualized the event and all other faculties helped her in coordination and execution. The students of 4 Sem of LLB 3 years took the initiative in its execution.

CSR Activity conducted by GHRLS, Nagpur

It's remarkable that youngsters of today are taking the initiatives in social causes. The new generation of G H Raisoni Law College Nagpur has formed a social welfare club and on 13 January 2020 taken up its first activity as 'Annadan'. Food, shelter and clothes are the basic human necessities, realizing this, the students proposed to start it with food distribution. Its with efforts taken by enthusiastic students right from cooking to serving everything was taken care of. Good work guys keep multiplying your dedicated efforts.

GHRLS, Nagpur Organized ISR Activity

The students of G H Raisoni Law College Nagpur visited Ramnagar Marathi Kanya Prathmik Shala. The social welfare club of college under the able guidance of faculties are working for good social causes. Mainly the students of second and fourth semester of 5 years and 3 years had taken the initiative and created happiness amongst the little enthusiastic students of Primary school. They also donated essential stationary material, books, and note books, drawing books and exam boards for all students of the primary school. The satisfaction and happiness was felt all around. Kudos to all the students for doing generous donations and from those fulfilling social responsibilities. Keep growing your fruitful work.

G H Raisoni Law College Nagpur wishes Ms Anisha Sharma HEARTIEST CONGRATULATIONS for making it as the finalist of Miss Diva (Miss Universe India 2020). Students of GHRLS, Nagpur visited Soil & Land Use Survey Office, Nagpur [SLUSI]

Students of G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur along with their faculty Dr. Sona Kumar visited Soil and Land Use Survey Office, Nagpur [SLUSI] as a part of their academic club activity on 07.03.2019.The soil and land use survey of India is under Intrigated Nutrient Management (INM) Division, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. The mandate of the organization is to provide detailed scientific data base on soil and land characteristics to the user department for watershed based soil and water conservation planning for natural resource management. Students of GHRLS visited soil laboratory situated in this office where Dr. Munish Kumar Head, SLSUI Nagpur along with their Scientists elaborated the entire process to the students and have shown various apparatus, tools and machines. Dr Kumar also narrated about the importance and need of the process from the point of view of law students curriculum which includes environmental law and the soil pollution is one of the major threat to the society as a whole. Students of GHRLS, Nagpur also got the opportunity to visit their GIS laboratory were direct images are seen from the satellite for the purpose of study and thorough research.

Pravin Gandhi College of Law, Mumbai Won at “Kshan” - A National Law Fest Organized by GHRLS, Nagpur

A three day National Law Fest was held at G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur from 15th March to 17th March - 2019. 18 teams, each team consisting of three students participated in this competition. In all more than 120 students were a part of the Law Fest. More than 6 National Law Universities, Symbiosis Law School Pune, Noida and Hyderabad and many other renowned colleges from all over the country were participants in the competition. The case for the competition was based on section 302 of the Indian Penal Code i.e. Murder. The final round of the competition was between Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat and Pravin Gandhi College of Law, Mumbai.

Hon'ble Shri. Justice A. S. Chandurkar, Hon'ble Shri Justice R. C. Chavhan (Retd.) and Hon'ble Smt. Justice Vasanti Naik (Retd.) were the judges for the final round and also graced the Valedictory Function. The complete Law Fest was held under the guidance and support of Mr. Sunil Raisoni, Chairman (Raisoni Group of Institutions), Dr. Jayant Aparajit, Director of G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur, many respectful Lawyers from the Nagpur High Court who sponsored the event and various prizes as well.

Dr. Sona Kumar, Dr. Anita Sable, Dr. Dilip Merkap and Prof. Hira Binekar, G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur were the teachers who dedicated their time for the successful organization of the National Event. The Moot Court Association formed with the President, Akash Pannalal Shahu, Treasurer, Vishal Singh Rajput, Vice President Priyal Rahangdale, Secretary, Parul Mahalle played their roles as the committee members appreciably. Along with the Moot Court Competition, Quiz Competition and Personality Contest was also organized. The final round was won by the students of Pravin Gandhi College of Law who argued wonderfully and won the Prize money of Rs. 21,000/- sponsored by Dewani Associates, Nagpur. The Gujarat National Law University finished the competition as thr Runners up and were awarded Rs. 15,000/- which was sponsored by Adv.Atul Pande. The judges appreciated the manner of argument and the skills of arguing of the students. Finally the law fest ended with the formal vote of thanks by the President, Akash Pannalal Shahu.

GHRLS, Nagpur Organized A visit to National Lok – Adalat

G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur organized a visit to the National Lok-adalat held in the premises of district court on 09th December, 2017 for the final year students. The idea behind this visit was to create an awareness amongst the students about the working of lok-adalat and how it is much easier to get cases resolved through this medium. The students were fortunate enough to have a detailed discussion with Shri. Kunal Jadhav, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, in the district court who shared few of his experiences with the students regarding dispute resolution. He also guided the students on the different benefit of joining the judiciary like how imparting justice is a noble job and brings us internal happiness. He also threw light upon various modes of alternative dispute resolution and how mediation works well in having a win-win situation for both the parties. The disputes are to be solved by emotionally convincing the parties and also keeping alive the spirit of law. The panel also focused light on the current status of ADR in India and compared it to the situation in other developed countries. The students were thankful to Mrs. Shilpa Sharma Faculty, G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur for arranging this visit for the students.

GHRLS, Nagpur Student Creates History

Mr. Sahil Dewani, student of G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur (5 Yrs Course-2016 Batch) has emerged as the first ever student from Nagpur university to received 20 medals at the convocation ceremony on 3rd December, 2017. The proud moment from G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur is that Sahil is the only student from RTMNU to reach this tally of medals post the segregation of medicine faculty from Nagpur University. He has bagged 12 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 4 prizes in his B.A. LL.B exam of RTMNU. The convocation ceremony echoing the name of the topper of the university brought Laurels to G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur. Dr. J. L. Aparajit, Director of G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur and other teaching staff congratulated Sahil Dewani for his splendid performance.

Local Enquiry Committee Set up at GHRLS, Nagpur

The LEC (Local Enquiry Committee) constituted by the RTM Nagpur University visited G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur on 20th December, 2017. Mrs. Aarti Kalnawat Received IInd Prize at One Day National Conference

Mrs. Aarti Mohan Kalnawat faculty of G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur has participated in the one day National Conference held on 23rd Dec, 2017. The theme of the conference was “Forensic Science: An Interface between Science, Law & Justice” organized by Department of forensic science, Govt. Institute of forensic science, Nagpur. She has presented paper entitled, “Forensic Evidence & its Credibility”. She received 2nd Prize in the paper presentation category. Dr. J. L. Aparajit, Director of G H Raisoni Law School, Nagpur and other teaching staff congratulated her for success.
